2018 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR NATIONAL QUALIFIERS:

 Both 8th Grade and Senior Scholarship Applications are provided in fillable formats.  Please enter all information online, proof, then print to sign and attach required documents.  Do not handwrite the information in the application, the list of school and community or the personal statement of no more than 100 words.  All of that information must be computer-generated. Those documents, as well as transcripts/grade reports must be submitted by the respective deadline.  No additional documents, artifacts, photos, covers or folders will be accepted.  Handwritten and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted.  All documents must be in hard copy.  Electronic storage devices (flash drives, thumb drives, discs, etc.) will NOT be accepted.  There will be NO computers or printers available for use in the Foundation Office at either Finals.  Applicants must arrive prepared to submit hard copies of the application and supporting documents by the deadline. 

 

CLAIMING RODEO SCHOLARSHIPS

To claim NHSRA Arena and NHSR Foundation scholarships, recipients who are currently enrolled in post-seconadry institutions must mail their Claim Form (received in a white envelope at time of presentation) and a copy of their upcoming academic semester schedule to:

2018 Cinch Academic 8th Grade + New Foundation Finalists

  • Eligible applicants are 8th grade NJHFR qualifiers, moving to 9th grade next school year.
  • As this is the Cinch Academic Scholarship, applicants should have exhibited exemplary grades (typically, straight A’s/perfect marks, may include course taken for high school credit), as well as well-rounded in school and community activities.
  • Due date will be published soon for applications with all required documents, to be turned in at the Gist Silversmiths booth in the NJHFR Trade Show. Handwritten and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted. There will be no computers or printers available for this purpose. 
  • Finalists will be posted in the Official Posting Area and will be required to interview at the NJHFR.
  • Scholarships will be presented on during the NJHFR.

2018 Foundation Scholarships for Graduating NHSFR Qualifiers

PRCA Gold Buckle Scholarship - two in the amount of $1,500 each  Additional Application Requirements: In addition to NHSR Foundation Scholarship application requirements you must submit a 2-3 minute video addressing the question: What would it mean to you, to be a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association?  · Please state the name of the NIRA school you will be attending in the fall within the video · Video must be the original work of the applicant · Videos under 2 minutes or longer than 3 minutes will not be eligible for consideration and the application for the Gold Buckle scholarship will be considered incomplete · Email video to: prcascholarships@prorodeo.com · Winning video essay(s) may be used for promotional purposes including the winners name, picture and likeness to promote the PRCA, the sport of rodeo and related PRCA events.  


ProRodeo Hall of Fame Western Heritage Scholarship – in the amount of $500    Additional Application Requirement: In addition to the NHSR Foundation Scholarship application requirements you must submit an additional 250 word (minimum) essay answering the following question: “In what ways do I live my life daily that exemplifies Western Heritage and shows that I am a role model for the cowboy lifestyle and symbolize ethics, responsibility, honesty, pride, hard work, fairness and trust?”    · Turn your Western Heritage essay in to the PRCA booth in the Trade Show to be eligible for this scholarship. Make sure your name and state/province are on the essay. · Turn your application, transcripts and Foundation essay in to the Foundation Office
